Why so quiet lately? . . . . . Well, nowforthesciencebit.com may have been quiet, but our offices certainly haven’t. We created a life, a miniature male human*. The experiment ended 64 days ago, and we’re happy to say it was successful. However, additional work is underway (every 2-3 hours, day and night), and followup analyses are being performed. Results will be published in further baby science articles. There are a lot of myths to debunk;we’ll get to it after the next feed. We also look forward to more contributions from our sage and august panel.

His namesakes include the Swedish engineer, innovator and chemist in whose name (and with whose money) the Nobel prizes were established; Dr Alfred Kinsey, the American biologist whose controversial studies on human sexuality are considered among the most successful and influential of the 20th century; and Lord Alfred Tennyson, who Stephen Jay Gould claims “was a champion of science, not an embodiment of the unjust stereotype of an affected, anti-technological, romantic poet.”
